Chick-fil-AlogoChick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich Review:

Price Paid: $3.09 | Company: Chick-fil-A
I have eaten a lot of these chicken sandwiches, a lot. I think they’re an amazing value and a fairly healthy food option if you’re craving fried chicken.

Look:
The packaging they use keeps the sandwich warm however, I found that it makes it a bit soggy if you take too long to eat it. The chicken sandwich has a nice, soft bun (which is buttered). Good sized chicken breast is crispy on the top but soggy on the bottom (from the pickles). Pickles look translucent and wobbly. Wobbly you might ask? Yes, this is a technical term [that I just made up] to describe mushy pickles (most likely from the heat of the chicken). The ingredients are:

  • Buttered bun
  • Hand-breaded chicken breast
  • Two wobbly pickles

Taste (8.8/10):
Let’s talk about the chicken first. Who doesn’t like fried chicken? Thought so. Chick-fil-A fries their chicken in a pressure cooker with 100% peanut oil. Pressurized peanut oil… if I cooked these, I would come to work in full body armor, kevlar from head to toe. Whew! Just thinking about it gives me hot flashes. Get it? Okay sorry.

The chicken is the star of the show with this sandwich; very juicy and tender. Perfectly seasoned chicken breast with a hint of sage. The pickles add a condiment taste without, well, condiments. Also, I just want to say, the mushy pickles do not subtract from the overall taste of the sandwich. The bun is soft and not overly buttery tying everything together nicely.

Value (9.4/10):
The quality is there with their process of hand-breading the chicken breast. There is just something about the TLC (tender loving care) they add that sets this sandwich apart from the rest. Real chicken breast at this price? Unheard of. Wobbly pickles included or not… excellent deal!

You can really cut some calories by opting for a multi-grain bun (which they have) and no butter. I would guess the calorie count to be more near 380 if you opt for such options.
