Chick-fil-AlogoChick-fil-A Chicken Deluxe Sandwich Review:

Price Paid: $3.49 | Company: Chick-fil-A
Chick-Fil-A turns their classic chicken sandwich into a spicy alternative. At 20 cents more you can add a little spice in your life. But does it taste good and is it worth it? Is it spicy and everything nice? Never fear! I will answer that for you below.

Look:
Never been much of a fan of CFA’s sandwich wrappers and although it keeps everything warm, it tends to get a little soggy if you wait too long to eat it.

We get a plain bun that is toasted with a little love (butter). The crispiness on the fried chicken is great but a little soggy on the bottom side where the pickles are. Not a huge problem for me and doesn’t take away from the overall taste of the sandwich. So a pretty simple sandwich. The ingredients are:

  • Buttered bun
  • Hand-breaded chicken breast
  • Two pickles

Taste (8.5/10):
If you don’t like spicy food I wouldn’t recommend this sandwich but since you’re here, I will take a guess and say you can handle the heat. I don’t have a high tolerance for spicy food, so bear with me.

This sandwich is exactly like their classic chicken sandwich but with a good kick of heat (it’s a little spicier than Wendy’s spicy chicken). Okay Kevin, we get it, you can’t hang (with the heat). The two pickles help relieve some of the spice… don’t worry this sandwich isn’t overly spicy. The sandwich brings a nice soft buttery bun. Chicken was moist and juicy.

I feel this sandwich has more of an elevated flavor profile than their (CFA) original chicken sandwich. But personally I would prefer their original than this sandwich. But like I said above, if you like spicy food, try this one out – you might like it.

Value (8.8/10):
Chick-fil-A has recently increased the prices on all their chicken sandwiches by about 14 cents. And for some reason this sandwich is 20 cents more than their classic chicken sandwich, which is the same sandwich minus the spice. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth that extra 20 cents but you might really enjoy it and not mind paying the cost.

So if you’re looking to lose some weight, consider the multigrain bud. Two things about this sandwich could become a problem if you were to eat too many of them, the sodium and cholesterol are pretty high. To reduce the cholesterol – consider their grilled chicken sandwich instead.
